Following the Chicago Med season 10 finale, viewers will learn whether Archer or Ripley is the father of Asher’s baby and what comes next for Lenox after her prion disease diagnosis. However, perhaps the most exciting upcoming storyline is the aforementioned character’s return. They’re not sticking around for long, but their appearance is still thrilling because of what it means for one couple.
Nick Gehlfuss Will Guest Star In Chicago Med’s 200th Episode
Halstead Is Returning To Chicago
Nick Gehlfuss, who began playing Dr. Will Halstead in the One Chicago universe in 2015, is reprising his role in Chicago Med season 11. He first appeared in Chicago PD, where he was introduced as Detective Jay Halstead’s brother, before joining Chicago Med during its debut season. Gehlfuss left eight seasons later, and now, he’s coming home (albeit for a limited time).
Gehlfuss will first appear in Chicago Med‘s 200th episode, aka season 11’s second episode (per TV Insider). Will is reportedly returning to the Windy City after moving to Seattle at the end of season 8 to take Owen, Dr. Natalie Manning’s young son, to a Bears game. While in town, he’ll drop by Gaffney to visit his old friends and former colleagues.
Will’s Return Confirms His & Natalie’s Relationship Status
Will & Natalie Are Endgame
Given that Will is traveling to Chicago to take Natalie’s son to a Bears game (without Torrey DeVitto’s character), the two are evidently still together. Will moved to Seattle to be with Natalie at the end of Chicago Med season 8, and by all accounts, they’re going strong. If anything, they’re better than ever if Will is going on trips with Natalie’s son.
Of course, no endgame is 100 percent for certain until the series finale. However, it’s quite unlikely that Will and Natalie will ever return to the One Chicago universe in any regular capacity, given the circumstances of their exits. Gehlfuss’s new leading role in CBS’s FBI spinoff, CIA, also doesn’t bode well for Will moving back to Chicago in Chicago Med.
