Fire Country is the hottest drama right now and not just because the stars are fighting fires. When Bode Donovan, a young convict, is allowed to shorten his prison sentence in exchange for joining a firefighting program, he accepts. But he soon learns he’s being sent back to his hometown, where he left all of his secrets and previous life behind. As Bode works alongside elite firefighters, battling massive wildfires, he hopes that he can make amends for his past mistakes and earn a chance at redemption.
Now, the fourth season, set to premiere on October 17, is looming after a major cliffhanger left fans wondering what is going to happen to their favorite characters. So, before you start tuning in again, meet the cast of Fire Country.
Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan
Born: October 14, 1988, in Los Altos Hills, California
Personal life: Married to Lexi Murphy since 2013; father of two children, Beaux and Maximus
Best known for: The Pacifier (2005), Disconnect (2012), Bates Motel (2013-2017) and SEAL Team (2017-2022)
Thoughts on Fire Country: “It’s really rewarding,” Thieriot, who is also a co-creator, said of being involved with Fire Country. “When I started writing it, in the beginning, I wasn’t sure what the route was gonna be. My intentions were to try to create this world, pitch it and then have them make a show, best-case scenario. But the more into it I got and the deeper I got, and the more time I spent with it, the more I became attached to it.”
Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez
Born: April 7, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas
Personal life: Married to Leslie de Jesus Alejandro since 2004; father of one child, Kaden
Best known for: Southland (2009-2011), True Blood (2010-2012), Arrow (2013-2014) and Arcane (2021-2024)
Thoughts on Fire Country: “I love being in charge and mentoring,” explained Alejandro of his character. “I love where they are taking [him] right now. He is a real human being, he is flawed, he makes decisions that aren’t always the best, but he has good intentions.”
Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford
Born: October 18, 1990, in Los Angeles, California
Best known for: Unfabulous (2004-2007), ER (2005-2006), The Glades (2010) and Countdown (2019)
Thoughts on Fire Country: “I think what we focus on in Fire Country is the story of redemption, the story of showcasing these convicted felons as not convicted felons and not just as firefighters, but as men, as women, as humans,” Calloway said.
Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards
Born: September 16, 1993
Best known for: Guilty Party (2021) and Rustin (2023)
Thoughts on Fire Country: “When we started doing this show, my research was Station 19,” reflected Latimer. “They talk a lot, they cook a lot and, like, I could do that. That’s what firefighters do [laughs]. But no, we are fully in gear… I just think firefighters can do so much, which I didn’t know, which is why I think is why everyone loves firefighters.”
Diane Farr as Sharon Leone
Born: September 7, 1969, in New York City
Personal life: Previously married to Seung Yong Chung from 2006-2020; mother of three kids Beckett, Sawyer and Coco
Best known for: Roswell (1999-2001), The Job (2001-2002), Rescue Me (2004-2005), Numb3rs (2005-2008) and Splitting Up Together (2018-2019)
Thoughts on Fire Country: “When I read the script, I thought it was amazing,” Farr said. “I did not see the twist coming—that Sharon is Bode’s mother. (Spoiler alert!) I’ve read a script almost daily for 25 years, so if one surprises me, I trust the writers. My first love for the project was definitely the writing.”
Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela Perez
Born: March 8, 1990, in Miami, Florida
Best known for: Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio (2017), Here and Now (2018), Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (2020) and Don’t Breathe (2021)
Thoughts on Fire Country: “Life takes us through so many avenues, and Gabriela is such a gift to me in my career, personally and professionally,” Arcila said. “I’m so grateful to have played a Latina on a show and a Latina where they were able to include part of my culture as well, part of my Colombian background. It was really exciting.”
Billy Burke as Vince Leone
Born: November 25, 1966, in Everett, Washington
Personal life: Previously married to Pollyanna Rose from 2008-2017; father of one child, Bluesy
Best known for: The Twilight Saga (2008-2012), Drive Angry (2011), Revolution (2012-2014) and Zoo (2015-2017)
Thoughts on Fire Country: “He’s [Vince] got that sort of innate, undying protector guy in him, which I didn’t grow up with and now have only really developed as a father,” Burke noted. “I consider that Vince’s biggest and best quality. And if he does it in stupid ways sometimes, he really does mean well in trying to look out for everybody in the community and everybody in his family.”
