The streets of the Upper West Side are about to look like prime time drama territory. For three days this week—Wednesday through Friday, September 17 to 19—production crews for “FBI” are filming on and around 88th and Broadway, according to signage posted in the area (click that link for the full list of streets).
The shoot comes just weeks before “FBI” returns for its eighth season, with the premiere set to air Monday, October 13, 2025, at 9 p.m. on CBS. Unlike previous years, this season arrives amid major changes: CBS has canceled both spinoffs–”FBI: Most Wanted” and “FBI: International”—leaving the original series to carry the franchise forward on its own.
This upcoming season introduces a new cast member, Juliana Aidén Martinez, whose role is still under wraps. Fans are also awaiting answers about the fate of Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille, whose status was left hanging at the end of Season 7.
As for this week’s shoot, it remains unclear which actors will be on set or what kind of scenes are being filmed (key cast members include Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki and Jeremy Sisto). Crews may be working on exteriors, interiors, or establishing shots—possibly involving staged crime scenes, NYPD vehicles, or FBI vans. Residents should expect intermittent street closures, a fair amount of equipment on the block, and possibly some temporary lighting setups for nighttime scenes.
The “FBI” franchise, created by Dick Wolf, has consistently used real New York City streets as backdrops, and the Upper West Side has been a recurring favorite–for both “FBI” and Wolf’s “Law & Order” franchise. With Season 8 around the corner, this week’s filming may end up appearing in the premiere episode—or serve as a key moment in the season’s early arc.
