It’s Official: CBS Renews ‘Fire Country’ for Season 4 md11

The heat goes on! On Feb. 20, CBS announced that it had renewed the hit firefighter drama Fire Country for Season 4.

The action-packed primetime soap opera is currently in its third season under showrunner Tia Napolitano. The series stars Max Thieriot—who also created the show with Tony Phelan and Joan Rater—as Bode Leone, an ex-con seeking redemption through firefighting in his Northern California hometown. In the first two seasons, he was serving his sentence in Cal Fire’s inmate firefighter program (which is a real thing, and inmate firefighters are helping with firefighting efforts in Los Angeles). In Season 3, he is free, and working with his family and friends as a firefighter at Edgewater’s Station 42 while navigating complications in his personal life.

There are two spinoffs in the works: Sheriff Country, starring Morena Baccarin as local sheriff Mickey Fox, which is slated to premiere this fall alongside Fire Country Season 4; and an as-yet-untitled series starring Jared Padalecki as Camden Casey, a Southern California firefighter who was introduced in Season 3. That series has not been officially ordered and is still in development.

Here’s what we know so far about Fire Country Season 4.

What is Fire Country Season 4 about?

We’re only about halfway through Fire Country Season 3, so it’s too early to say what will happen in Season 4. But there are two things you can always expect from Fire Country: Thrilling firefighting action setpieces and emotional character-driven drama.

Who is in the Fire Country cast for Season 4?

Max Thieriot as Bode Leone

A formerly incarcerated man who is trying to rebuild his life while working as a firefighter in his hometown. Bode always tries to do the right thing, but he doesn’t always go about it the right way.

Billy Burke as Vince Leone

Bode’s father and a Cal Fire Battalion Chief. He has a gruff exterior, but he cares about his family and his community deeply.

Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez

Gabriela’s father and current Three Rock Con Camp inmate. He was a program success story who went from convict to Cal Fire captain, but some bad decisions landed him back in the program, and now he’s trying to build himself back up.

Diane Farr as Sharon Leone

Bode’s mother and a Cal Fire Division Chief. She treats everyone like family.

Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford

The captain of Station 42, ex-boyfriend to both Gabriela and Bode’s late sister Riley, and Bode’s best friend. He and Bode recently became roommates.

Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards

The captain of the Three Rock Con Camp and Bode’s other best friend. After a long estrangement, she’s in the process of restoring her relationship with her family.

Billy Burke as Vincent “Vince” Leone

Vince is Bode and Riley’s father, Sharon’s husband and Cal Fire Battalion Chief

Additionally, Shawn Hatosy, who recently won an Emmy for his guest role on The Pitt, has been teased to show up in some capacity on Season 4.

Is Gabriela leaving Fire Country?

Sadly, yes. After seeing the character spiral and then rebound over the past couple of seasons, it was revealed following the Season 3 finale that Stephanie Arcila’s Gabriela will not be returning to the series in a major role. Showrunner Tia Napolitano has revealed that her departure will be addressed in the Season 4 premiere.

Who will die in Fire Country Season 4?

Fire Country fans were shocked to see Jordan Calloway post some set footage from a funeral, with several characters in attendance. Of course, that prompted heavy speculation as to who might not live to see Season 4. While not confirmed yet, many believe that Vince might not have lived through the blaze that ended Season 3 in a cliffhanger.

What is the Fire Country Season 4 release date?

Fire Country Season 4 is set to premiere Friday, Oct. 17 on CBS. The first episode will air at a special time of 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. In the following weeks, the show will settle back into its familiar timeslot of 9:00.

How to watch Fire Country

Fire Country Season 3 airs Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and is available to stream on Paramount+. Season 4 will presumably air at the same time and stream in the same place.

What Fire Country spinoffs are in development?

At this time, there are two Fire Country spinoffs announced. Sheriff Country, starring Morena Baccarin as local sheriff Mickey Fox, is slated to premiere this fall alongside Fire Country Season 4. An as-yet-untitled series starring Jared Padalecki as Camden Casey, a Southern California firefighter who was introduced in Season 3, is still in development.
