Young Sheldon star Montana Jordan has announced the birth of his first child, with the actor confirming he and his girlfriend have welcomed a baby girl.
The star, who played Georgie Cooper on the sitcom, has been in a relationship with Jenna Weeks since 2021, and has now announced via Instagram the arrival of their first child.
“5/21/2024. God has blessed me with a beautiful baby girl. Emma Rae Jordan, Momma and Daddy love you. Forever and always,” wrote Jordan in the caption, accompanying a photo of the star with Emma in his arms.
The comment section was filled with messages of congratulations from fans and colleagues alike, with Young Sheldon co-star Iain Armitage writing: “I can’t wait to meet her!! I’ve always wanted to be an uncle!! So happy for you!! Congratulations ❤️”
Co-stars Rachel Bay Jones and Will Sasso, who play Audrey and Jim McAllister respectively, also commented, with the former writing: “Honey!!!!! Congratulations!!!!” Sasso, who appeared in the sixth and seventh seasons, added: “Beauuuuutiful! Congrats Jenna and Montana! ❤️❤️❤️”
Young Sheldon, a spin-off and prequel to The Big Bang Theory, recently concluded with its seventh season, with the finale seeing Jim Parsons reprise his role as the idiosyncratic theoretical physicist.
Despite returning to play the character, Parsons recently dampened the prospect of inhabiting the role again, saying: “Look, never say never to anything. Life is long, God willing. But I don’t think so.”
“It was very, very special to do that,” he added in regards to his cameo appearance. “The feeling today is kind of odd, you know? It’s the second time now, because when we ended The Big Bang Theory, it felt like this, too. A little bit different.
“You shoot that final episode and it’s wrapped for you, and then a couple of months later, it wraps for the rest of the world and it’s a very weird feeling to flood over you again like that.”
