It’s been almost a year since the huge Haugen restaurant closed its doors in Stratford. But now it’s set to have a new lease of life under Gordon Ramsay. The chef and restaurateur announced that he’s turning the space into one of his biggest Bread Street Kitchens yet.
The pavilion-style building, complete with massive roof terrace, will now be taken over by Ramsay for his sixth BSK restaurant. The all-day space will be open for coffee and pastries in the morning, there’ll be a community workspace in its ground floor cafe and along with a terrace on the ground floor you can expect them to make good use of its humungous roof terrace on sunny days.
The Stratford restaurant’s menu will be mostly similar to the other BSKs so expect there to be a Beef Wellington Experience alongside steaks, burgers and salads. But we’re told that there will also be some new dishes on offer, like a steak and ale pie and a courgette and pesto lasagne, in this the group’s flagship when it opens.
It’s never nice to see a restaurant lie empty, particularly one as prominent as this, but if anyone can fill it Gordon can.
