Chicago Fire Season 13 Adds KaDee Strickland and Promotes Jake Lockett

Chicago Fire is gearing up for a season full of drama, surprises, and new faces. The long-running NBC first-responder series has officially added another major player to its cast. KaDee Strickland — best known for her role on Private Practice — will step into a pivotal recurring role as the estranged wife of Fire Chief Dom Pascal, a character introduced just last month and played by Dermot Mulroney. This storyline promises to bring a personal twist to Firehouse 51, adding tension and emotional depth as Chief Pascal navigates his complicated personal life while leading his team.

This exciting casting news comes as the show prepares to return for its highly anticipated new season on September 25th. Fan-favorite cast members Taylor Kinney, David Eigenberg, Miranda Rae Mayo, Joe Miñoso, Christian Stolte, Daniel Kyri, Hanako Greensmith, and Jocelyn Hudon are all set to return, bringing back the heart and intensity that Chicago Fire fans know and love.

In addition to Strickland’s arrival, TV Line reports that Jake Lockett — who first appeared in the season 11 premiere as firefighter Sam Carver — has been promoted to series regular for season 13. Over the past two seasons, Carver has become a key member of the Firehouse 51 crew, appearing in 33 episodes and anchoring several major storylines. One of the most memorable arcs has been his evolving relationship with Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith), which reached a dramatic turning point in the season 12 finale when Carver confessed his love for her.

With Carver stepping into a bigger role and the arrival of a complex new character tied to Chief Pascal, season 13 is shaping up to be one of the most emotionally charged seasons yet. Fans can expect high-stakes rescues, personal conflicts, and unexpected twists as the series continues to explore the lives of the firefighters and paramedics who risk it all for the city of Chicago.

What about you? Are you excited to see KaDee Strickland join the cast and to follow Sam Carver’s expanded storyline? What are your hopes for the upcoming season of Chicago Fire?
