General Hospital fans got quite a shock when Charlotte returned with a new face. After weeks of being talked about but never seen, Charlotte is back in the mix.
This time around, Scarlett Fernandez isn’t playing Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) daughter. The new Charlotte has acting in her blood and is connected to a fan-favorite Fire Country star.
Who is the new Charlotte on General Hospital?
Bluesy Burke has taken over the role of Charlotte on the ABC soap. The 17-year-old is the daughter of Fire Country star Billy Burke (Vince) and actress Pollyanna Rose.
Performing is the family business for the Burke clan. Bluesy’s first acting gig was in a film, Luster, which starred both of her parents. Billy even wrote a song about his only child, titled “Bluesy LaRue,” on his Removed album.
The actress’ most recent job before General Hospital was in the film Booksmart, directed by Olivia Wilde. General Hospital is her first foray into the soap world.
Bluesy was immediately thrown in the deep end with vets like Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) and Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), and she held her own nicely.
Billy has been on Fire Country since the show debuted in 2023. The actor has a connection to another General Hospital star, too.
Chris McKenna (Brennan) took to social media after Bluesy’s debut to reveal he worked on a film with the Fire Country star. “Fun fact- the new actress who plays Charlotte, Bluesy Burke, is the daughter of Billy Burke. He and I did the film FORFEIT together. #GH,” read his X.
General Hospital Fans React to NuCharlotte
Social media was on fire after Bluesy made her debut as Charlotte on the ABC soap. “I actually like this new Charlotte. 😊 I’m shocked. #GH” stated a fan.
Another fan expressed, “I have not watched this episode yet but I’m glad Charlotte was recasted cuz those long breaks were getting on my nerves- I liked the other actress but her schedule was nuts like PLEASE. 😭 #GH.”
“New Charlotte looks a lot like Scarlett Johansson. Wow. #GH,” said a different fan. One fan connected the Burke dots writing, “Oh wow new Charlotte Bluesy Burke is Billy Burke (Vince Leone ) from Fire Country’s daughter. #GH.”
One fan spilled, “Scarlett is such a special young actress. That said, I am already enjoying the new Charlotte. Her character has been missed onscreen and it looks like she’s about to give Lulu hell 😂 #gh.”
“I’m already a fan of Bluesy as Charlotte she is perfect mix of her parents!! A+ for her day in the roll…exited for her to share scenes w Rocco & rest of the family,” insisted a fan.
It takes time to get used to a recast, but General Hospital fans are impressed with Bluesy Burke after her debut.
