Finally, Tate (Leo Howard) realizes Sophia (Rachel Boyd) is lying again as Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) investigate Sophia’s story further. (From l.) Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) are talking with Tate (Leo Howard) outside of the Brady Pub. Steve is helping Brady and Tate dig into Sophia’s story about what happened to Tate’s baby. Is there a new lead that changes everything?
Inside the Brady Pub, Steve and Brady are deep in discussion. Are they working out new theories of what really happened to Sophia and Tate’s baby, or is there something else weighing heavily on their minds?
Sophia (Rachel Boyd) looks utterly stunned by whatever it is Tate and Brady are confronting her about. Will she be able to think quickly enough to spin answers that placate them about the baby, or will the truth finally come spilling out once and for all?
Sophia looks smug as she hands an envelope over to Tate. Has she faked the adoption papers that Tate has been demanding, or is she playing yet another game?
Teasers say that Chad (Billy Flynn) is concerned about Cat (AnnaLynne McCord), but those aren’t the only emotions he’s experiencing where the woman who once impersonated his late wife, Abigail, is concerned. He’s developing real feelings for her, and this kiss shows that things are progressing between them.
Chad’s concern for Cat may be more about how Abigail’s parents might feel. At JJ’s birthday party, Chad and Jack (Matthew Ashford) appear to be having a very intense discussion. Is Chad confiding in his former father-in-law about the shift in his dynamic with Cat?
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes, l.) warmly welcomes Jack and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) back to Salem as they gather to celebrate their son JJ’s birthday. Any excuse to have more family back in town is something Julie can get behind.
Nothing makes Jennifer happier than spending time with her son, JJ (Casey Moss). He’s happy to have his mother and father back in Salem. It’s going to make this year’s birthday celebration extra special
Julie excitedly shows Jennifer their grandmother Alice’s necklace — safe and sound in her care. The family finally has it again after Doug first stole it, Gwen later bought it, and Doug then stole it back for Julie, since Gwen had no intention of ever returning it.
The Horton home is the scene for brotherly love as Jack shares a reunion hug with his big brother Steve. No way is Uncle Steve going to miss a birthday party for his nephew JJ. The brothers have a lot to catch up on, as Chad watches.
What is JJ wishing for now that he blows out the candles on his birthday cake? Julie and Steve are rooting him on — or perhaps they’re just hoping for a piece of the cake sooner rather than later!
Jack, Jennifer, Steve, Julie and Chad share a toast to the birthday boy, and JJ proudly raises his own glass of champagne. Having the family around for his special day is probably the greatest gift JJ could ask for.
Gwen (Emily O’Brien) looks guarded as she runs into her father Jack outside of Sweet Bits in Horton Town Square. Their relationship has been fractured since she and Xander blackmailed him for his half of The Spectator, which she later sold to Chad. How will this encounter go?
Gwen also runs into her half brother, JJ. He wasn’t happy with her when she refused to give Julie back her grandmother’s necklace, but today is his birthday. Will this conversation be contentious, or will it lead to some healing between the siblings?
