The FBI Season 7 finale featured a cliffhanger that hinted at a potential character death. After thwarting the internal attack planned on the bureau by Forefront, SAC Isobel Castille (Alana De La Garza) collapsed in the bullpen. She had been in proximity of an explosion earlier on, and even though she felt fine after, there was no telling what unseen injuries she could have sustained. As the show returns for Season 8 in a few weeks, viewers are waiting with bated breath to learn Isobel’s fate. Details about the Season 8 premiere are out, and it doesn’t seem like good news. The logline below for the episode titled “Takeover” reveals that there is an open position in the office, and Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) takes over. However, it’s a challenging endeavor as he trades his earpiece for a pen. While this could mean nothing, there is a strong possibility that Isobel did not make it. However, she could also be out on sick leave, which is the best-case scenario. Viewers will have to tune in to CBS on Monday, October 13, to learn what happened.
“After a federal judge disappears, a routine investigation takes a dark turn as the team uncovers that the judge had been searching for his missing son on a secluded island on the city’s edge, where authority has crumbled. Meanwhile, reality weighs heavy on Jubal as he takes on a new leadership role.”
Isobel’s Loss Would Be Devastating to ‘FBI’
The SAC’s potential demise would be a huge loss for the bureau and the show. It would cause serious reorganization, potentially taking Jubal up the ladder as the new SAC.”It would be a huge blow to the office and to Jubal and to obviously the show as well. We are all hoping that that is not the case. … I think one of the reasons our show works is because all the characters fill a necessary role within this family, and so it would be a real shame to break something that’s working so well,” Sisto said of Isobel’s potential demise in an interview after the Season 7 finale. “Literally, you have to tune in to see. It is a legit cliffhanger. It was very exciting and very fun to play, unlike anything I’ve ever played before for sure. So that was fun,” De La Garza said, in the same interview.
