Today’s trip to Salem revolves mainly around Kristen’s confession. Everyone is discussing it, and it seems that, despite all the things that Kristen has done in the past, no one fully believes she shot EJ. Plus, Cat and Gwen meet, and Javi and Leo are reunited.
Here is a full recap for the Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, episode of “Days of Our Lives.”
Cat and Gwen Make Friends
Today’s episode begins with Cat bumping into Gwen at University Hospital. Cat is leaving with a box full of her belongings, as Gwen has just had lab work done. They momentarily commiserate over both knowing Dimitri, and then realizes that Cat was the woman who impersonated Abagail. She is intrigued by her ability to pull off such a feat and invites Cat to lunch someday soon. Cat agrees to it, and leaves Gwen with her number.
From there, Cat stops in to see Rafe. She tells him that Marlena is taking an extended break from work, so she has been let go. This will make it harder for her to dig up stuff on EJ. She tells him about meeting Gwen and that she may be her next way into digging up stuff, because Gwen is living at the DiMeras with EJ. After Cat leaves, Rafe takes a call from Sami, who is furious. He reassures her that Johnny is safe at home with his wife. Rafe also reminds her not to threaten Kristen’s life over the phone to a federal agent.
Javi and Leo Reunite
Javi is at home whipping something up in the kitchen when Leo appears. He is finally home after being sequestered for Johnny’s trial. They talk a little bit about the trial, but mainly focus on how happy they are to be reunited. They take the baby for a walk through Horton Square and bump into Gwen just as Leo is telling Javi that Johnny would have been found not guilty. Gwen is intrigued by the verdict, and she clashes with Leo until Javi interrupts. Leo tells Gwen that this is the happiest he has ever been, and they leave to have a real reunion at home.
Once at home, Leo can’t stop thinking about the trial. Kristen’s confession is sitting badly because he doesn’t understand why she would do the right thing.
Kristen’s Confession Is Unbelievable
Chad storms in as EJ is pouring a drink. He is having a hard time believing that Kristen is telling the truth. EJ says little as Chad pushes him for answers. He assumes that EJ’s brain has protected him from remembering the truth, but asks again if his sessions with Marlena have helped. Chad insists that their sister’s confession makes no sense. EJ says that she felt remorse over Johnny taking the fall for her. He tries to change the subject by bringing up Cat, but Chad insists that they are just friends.
Gwen walks into the room as they discuss Cat, and she mentions meeting her earlier. She and Chad bicker until he leaves in disgust. As EJ is about to go to the hospital, Gwen tells him that Johnny would have been found not guilty. She then excuses herself, and after a moment, EJ apologizes to Kristen out loud.
Rachel Insists Kristen Didn’t Shoot EJ
Brady pays Kristen, who is locked in a jail cell, a visit. He is furious with her and calls her a monster for letting Rachel suffer for months for something that she herself did. Brady now understands why everyone has warned him to stay away from her. He demands to know why Kristen shot her brother and she tells him it was an accident. She was upset because he hid her mother. Brady points out that killing him wouldn’t bring her back. He continues to listen to Kristen and then he finally interrupts her to say that he doesn’t believe her. He thinks she is hiding something big.
Brady returns to Marlena’s to find her with Rachel. She has just finished telling Rachel that her mom confessed to shooting EJ. Rachel firmly insisted that Kristen didn’t do it, even though she was unsure of why she didn’t believe it. Marlena reassures both Brady and Rachel that they are all family and will somehow get through this.
