Gordon Ramsay has shared a surprising moment from the birth of his son, Oscar, in 2019.
Guest on the Smartless podcast, the chef confessed that he fainted while holding his son, who had been born by cesarean section, in his arms for the first time.

“Suddenly I saw blood everywhere, the doctors were moving quickly, and when they gave me the Oscar, I just fell. I fell like an idiot,” he humorously recounted, writing Dailymail.
Ramsay added that previously his wife, Tana, had not allowed him to be in the delivery room, but this time she made an exception.
The couple, married since 1996, have six children and describe the latest birth, Jesse James Ramsay in November 2023, as a “blessing” and “birthday present.”
Ramsay, now 58, admits with a laugh that he wasn’t too keen on a sixth child due to his age and family life “requiring two buses”, but says that empathy and experience have made him a better father over the years.
Meanwhile, his son Oscar is following in his footsteps, starting to criticize the food at school and carrying a lunchbox prepared at home.
“He said to me, ‘The food is terrible.’ I said, ‘Then take it with you.'”
