Before Raegan Revord became a household name portraying the role of Missy in Young Sheldon, the actress had a brief role in another hit sitcom, Modern Family. Revord began their acting journey on the Emmy-winning sitcom after appearing in a number of commercials.

Raegan Revord made their acting debut with a small role in Modern Family
Raegan Revord began their career in entertainment at a very young age, starting with modeling and commercials before transitioning into acting and eventually landing their breakout role as Missy in Young Sheldon.
Their acting journey began with a small role on the hit sitcom Modern Family at just six years old. Revord played Megan, one of Lily’s schoolmates, appearing in two episodes across two seasons.
Their first appearance came in the Season 6 episode titled Won’t You Be Our Neighbor, where Megan joins Lily on a playdate.
Megan returned in the Season 7 episode The Storm, where she attends Lily’s princess-themed birthday party amid chaotic weather. Though brief, Revord’s appearances in the sitcom marked an important early step in their acting career.
While their role may be small or forgotten by some fans, being part of a show as widely loved as the ABC sitcom likely helped Revord gain industry attention and paved the way for future success.
The Young Sheldon star reflected on their first acting gig
Talking about their brief appearance in Modern Family, Raegan Revord has revealed how they landed the job shortly after getting an agent.
“[My parents] got me a manager that started [to submit] me for theatrical jobs, and at 6 is when I booked ‘Modern Family,” they told SBJCT Journal in an interview.
Revord has since expressed how that early acting job made them realize their passion for performing. It was a turning point that led them to open up to their parents about wanting to pursue acting seriously.
“I’ve always loved entertaining, making people laugh, getting dressed up and putting on plays or concerts, but when I did my first episode of ‘Modern Family,’ I knew!” they told Photobook Magazine.
I remember wrapping the first episode and crying. I didn’t want to leave, I wanted to return every day. That’s when I asked my mom how to be on a TV show every day but without auditioning.
Revord not only knew what they wanted, but they actively worked toward it. After Modern Family, the actress continued modeling and took on more acting jobs in short films like Tortoise, I See You, and Stray, as well as TV shows like W/ Bob & David.
These efforts eventually led to the biggest role of their career so far, playing Missy Cooper on Young Sheldon. In addition to acting, Revord has also explored writing. They authored a young adult sapphic romance novel titled Rules for Fake Girlfriends, which is set to hit bookshelves this fall.
