All rise as the judge enters the court. Belle (Martha Madison, l.), the district attorney, represents the state while Johnny (Carson Boatman, l.) represents himself in the attempted murder of his father EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). Johnny’s mother-in-law Paulina (Jackée Harry), who is also the mayor of Salem, is in attendance to hear the verdict from the jury.
All heads turn when Kristen (Stacy Haiduk, l.) enters the courtroom. Johnny’s wife Chanel (Raven Bowens) sits with her mother Paulina. Kristen’s outburst appears to surprise those in attendance. Has she figured out a way to get Johnny off the hook without implicating her daughter Rachel?

belle and johnny stand and face the front of the courtroom.
EJ, Kristen and Marlena (Deidre Hall) are the only three in the courtroom who know the truth about Rachel being the one who tried to kill EJ. Is Kristen there to plead for mercy for her daughter, or has she devised another way to resolve this dilemma?
Leo (Greg Rikaart), the jury foreman, is present to deliver their verdict. Judge Dabney (Karole Foreman) watches over the court as the bailiff (David Jite) appears to grab Kristen. Is this for disrupting the court proceedings or for something else?

the bailiff holds kristen.
Kristen shoots a furious look at her brother EJ. He has threatened to tell the court that it was Rachel who shot him if Kristen doesn’t figure out another way to clear Johnny of attempted murder. Backed into a corner, what is Kristen about to do?
Leo and the rest of his peers are out of the jury box. Are the proceedings over, or is there another reason they are milling about?
Johnny appears surprised as he listens to Chanel and her mother, Paulina, inside the courtroom. Are they discussing what just happened?
Paulina, Chanel and Marlena celebrate the outcome of what has just happened in the courtroom. Does this mean Johnny has been proven not guilty and their nightmare is finally over?
EJ actually looks pleased to see Johnny and Chanel together and happy. Does this mean he will stop trying to pry them apart because his daughter-in-law has made it clear she doesn’t like him?
belle and ej talk for a moment outside of the courtroom.

With the trial seemingly over, EJ is all smiles as he greets Belle. Is he hoping she will forgive him for what he put her through in his attempt to secure his son’s freedom? Will she be as willing to move on as he is?
Marlena and EJ are discussing what was revealed to them both earlier in the day. Will they keep the secret of what Rachel did for a long time, or has it already come out in court?

It appears like Shawn (Brandon Beemer) is arresting Kristen, but is it for shooting her brother — a crime she did not commit — or for contempt of court? It would be ironic if Kristen ends up doing time in jail for a crime she didn’t commit after all the crimes she’s gotten away with over the years.
Belle and Shawn share a moment together in Horton Town Square. Now that she has dumped EJ, do these two exes have any hope of rekindling the deep love they once shared for so many years?
