Georgie & Mandy’s Split Isn’t The Most Heartbreaking In TBBT’s Spinoff

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage might soon be setting up the show’s first divorce, but it won’t be the most heartbreaking split in The Big Bang Theory spinoff. For better or for worse, Sheldon has already revealed many major storylines of First Marriage in The Big Bang Theory. This means that some sad stories are already in the works.

One sad story is Georgie and Mandy’s separation. Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 1 ended with the couple on good terms after some moments of tension. However, from The Big Bang Theory, we know they will not last forever. Neither will one other key Young Sheldon relationship: Georgie and Sheldon.

We Know Georgie & Mandy Will Get A Divorce

If the writers follow canon, which they probably will, Georgie and Mandy will likely divorce in the final season of First Marriage. The divorce will probably happen at the end of the show, just like how George Sr.’s death happened at the end of Young Sheldon. Both events were clear from the beginning, just the timing was left to question.

With their relationship still in the somewhat early stages, the couple has time to explore the relationship before their eventual fallout. This gives some hope that there will still be some sweet scenes between them. Even as the divorce looms ahead, the fact that they are on good terms now hints that the divorce won’t happen for a while.

Georgie & Sheldon’s Falling Out Will Ostensibly Happen During First Marriage’s Span Of Time

While the canon is set, the timing for major events in The Big Bang Theory‘s spinoffs is a bit more flexible. Even so, Georgie and Sheldon’s falling out will likely happen sometime during Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Season 1 has unfortunately started hinting at the split with Sheldon’s absence in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

We know that Georgie has some resentment towards Sheldon. The youngest brother went off to college while Georgie was stuck taking care of their family in the wake of their dad’s passing. Now, with Sheldon’s absence in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, it seems like their relationship is getting rougher. Their split will likely happen in the next few years.

First Marriage Can Make Georgie’s Side Of Things Even More Heartbreaking

Georgie and Sheldon’s fallout would be heartbreaking by itself, but learning about Georgie’s side of things would make everything so much worse. In The Big Bang Theory, only Sheldon’s side was talked about, but Sheldon is an unreliable narrator. As a result, anything we learn about their fallout in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will likely hold much more weight.

In The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon said he had a bad dad and that Georgie was a bully, both of which were entirely untrue. Young Sheldon put these stories in a new light, and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will likely do the same. It will most likely be painful when Georgie’s truth comes out.
