Does Isobel die and is Alana De La Garza leaving FBI after Season 7 finale?
The finale didn’t confirm whether Isobel died or not. Initially, she survives the building explosion and is applauded for her bravery by Jubal. Shortly after, as she speaks, she repeats words and fumbles. She then pauses for a brief moment and collapses on the ground. Maggie rushes to check her health, only to find she has no pulse. This leads to her calling 911. Her fate remains up in the air after the finale. However, there are likely fewer chances of Isobel leaving, given Garza hasn’t said goodbye to the role yet.
In a video interview with TV Insider, Garza shared her thoughts on Isobel’s cliffhanger Season 7 ending and whether she would survive. She said, “Literally, you have to tune in to see. It is a legit cliffhanger. It was very exciting and very fun to play, unlike anything I’ve ever played before for sure. So that was fun.”
Although she refrained from revealing what would happen to Isobel, her co-actor Jeremy Sisto in the same interview shared that it could significantly impact the ongoing storyline, and expressed hope that Isobel doesn’t die. “It would be a huge blow to the office and to Jubal and to obviously the show as well. We are all hoping that that is not the case…I think one of the reasons our show works is because all the characters fill a necessary role within this family, and so it would be a real shame to break something that’s working so well,” he added.
Since Garza hasn’t addressed any plans to leave the show, it’s safe to assume her character isn’t going anywhere. Moreover, her fate will likely be resolved in the next installment. So, even if her death is considered, there’s still a chance she could appear in Season 8 at least for an episode or two to conclude her arc.
