Raegan Revord has long been a big reader, and is now going to become an author herself.
The Young Sheldon actress, 16, announced Tuesday that she will publish her debut young adult novel, Rules for Fake Girlfriends. The book is slated for a fall 2025 publication date through Wednesday Books, an imprint of The St. Martin’s Publishing Group.
Rules for Fake Girlfriends follows Avery Blackwell who, after the death of her mother, attends her mom’s alma mater, Brighton College. While at Brighton, Avery meets Charlie, a girl who asks Avery to pretend to be her girlfriend, and who becomes her aid in finishing a scavenger hunt that Avery’s mother left behind.

“I’ve been a fan of Wednesday Books since I began reading YA, so to have my debut novel be published under Eileen’s expertise and guidance has been a dream come true,” Revord says.
The actress currently plays Missy Cooper on Young Sheldon, the CBS spinoff prequel of The Big Bang Theory, whose final season premieres this month. She is also an active member within the literary community and calls herself an “avid reader.”
In 2019, she launched her book club, Read with Raegan. The online community, which currently has over 55k followers on Instagram, is a space for young adults to discuss books, hear author interviews and connect with other readers.
Revord hopes that Rules for Fake Girlfriends will be another way to share stories with a larger audience.
“I am so excited for readers to go on this journey with Avery and her friends,” Revord continues. “Inclusive Stories are more important now than ever and I’m excited to have been given the opportunity to share Rules for Fake Girlfriends with readers.”
