2 Stars of ‘The Twilight Saga’ Have Teamed Up in a New Movie

Two stars of ‘The Twilight Saga’ have cooperated on a new project scheduled to drop. Here’s what we know about the movie so far.

The Twilight Saga is an epic adventure love story that spans five blockbuster movies. Along with the massive amounts of money the films raked in, the project also boosted many actors’ careers. Two such stars from The Twilight Saga have collaborated on a new project scheduled to drop.

‘The Twilight Saga’ actors, Edi Gathegi and Angela Sarafyan will star in ‘The S.H.U.’

Scene-stealer, Edi Gathegi, portrays the vampire, Laurent, in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Now he will play the lead role in the upcoming feature, The S.H.U.

Joining him is fellow Twilight alum, Angela Sarafyan, who brought Egyptian immortal, Tia, to life in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2. Although the actors did not appear in the same movie within the series, they were both credited in the elaborate end credit sequence of the final film.

‘The S.H.U.’ is billed as a horror thriller
In The Twilight Saga, Gathegi instilled fear in his enemies as Laurent, but in The S.H.U., his character may be on the receiving end of the frights. Billed as a horror-thriller, the official synopsis, found on IMDb, reads as follows:

“An African American male is imprisoned and placed in solitary confinement after being found guilty of murdering his wife, as he’s haunted by internal demons and his dead wife, and pushed to the breaking point by an abusive female guard.”

Gathegi will play the lead role of Harlow Reid, with Sarafyan co-starring as his wife, Amber Reid. Rounding out the cast are Melora Hardin and Tony Amendola. Scriptwriting duties went to the film’s director, Aaron Fjellman, and co-writer, James Doc Mason.

‘The S.H.U.’ highlights ‘the significance of the Black Lives Matter movement,’ says studio exec
Fjellman expressed his excitement about the project and the story’s relevance to current events. Deadline quoted him as saying, “After a global pandemic condemned the world to solitary confinement, George Floyd’s tragedy inspired a moment in time where it seems change is finally within our grasp.”

And the company behind the distribution? Deadline dished that Premiere Entertainment Group landed a sales deal for The S.H.U. “Premiere Entertainment shares our creative vision and has the expertise to present this project to a global audience, making them the perfect partner,” Fjellman explained.

The VP of Acquisitions for Premiere Entertainment Group, Carlos Rincon, also commented on the timing of the film’s production and release, as revealed by Deadline. “We were very impressed with this smart and promptly upgraded genre film and were eager to team up with Pete and Aaron. In the fashion of Jordan Peele and his iconic films Get Out and Us, The S.H.U. promises to thrill and entertain audiences, but more importantly, it delivers a relevant social message.”

Rincon expounded upon his thoughts further, saying, “The film not only underlines the significance of the Black Lives Matter movement but also explores the psychological and torturous effects of extreme isolation.”
