Boston Blue Is Debuting Earlier Than CBS’ Confirmed Schedule
After the cancellation of Blue Bloods, the spinoff will debut even sooner than anticipated. First revealed by Variety, the first episode of Boston Blue will premiere at MIPCOM Cannes on October 12th. The premiere will be available to watch for all delegates and will even feature some questions and answers by stars Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green.
CBS originally confirmed that Boston Blues‘ American premiere would take place on October 17th. That remains true for the televised premiere. However, globally, the first screening of the new episode will take place a week before and will have limited availability. If it gets positive reactions, it could make the anticipation for Boston Blue even stronger.
Why Blue Bloods Fans Should Be Excited About Boston Blue Despite It Being A Spinoff
Erin appearing so early in the new spinoff will also answer a lot of questions following Blue Bloods’ cancellation. The finale ended on a heartwarming note that gave the characters closure. However, there were still some open-ended questions left regarding each member of the Reagan family. Erin’s early return will spark discussion between her and her brother and likely clear some of that up.
Boston Blue may be just a spinoff, but it has great potential to expand the remaining stories around the Reagan family. Danny can continue to carry his family’s legacy on screen while also introducing new beloved characters to the Blue Bloods universe. Erin’s early return will only help Danny in his new role.
