Just after he proposed to Theresa Nist, Golden Bachelor lead Gerry Turner spoke to Katie Couric about his past relationship lie.
“I guess I would say this,” Turner explained, per New York Post. “I dated a number of women, but then it comes an issue of how you define whether you’re in a relationship.”
Instead of continuing to discuss the lie, Turner said he wanted to “focus” on the present.
Along with revealing her relationship with Turner, Carolyn revealed what caused the two to split in 2019.
She alledged he dumped her after she gained 10 pounds. This was a few months before they were supposed to attend his high school reunion together.
“I’m not taking you to the reunion looking like that,” Carolyn recalls Turner telling her. She also said that while she was moving her things out of their shared home, she fell down the stairs and was forced to go to the emergency.
Turner allegedly claimed she hurt herself on purpose. He then forced her to live in a hotel.
“I really wish this would’ve worked out,” Carolyn claimed Turner told her. “Call me when you get to your hotel, so I know you made it safe.”
