‘Young Sheldon’ Series Finale Gives Update on Sheldon & Amy’s Life Post ‘Big Bang Theory’

Young Sheldon just aired it’s final episode after seven season on CBS!

The Big Bang Theory prequel series, of course, followed a young Sheldon Cooper growing up in Texas with his family.

In the series finale that aired Thursday night (May 16), Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik reprised their roles of adult Sheldon and Dr Amy Farrah Fowler, and we got an update on their life, years after the end of The Big Bang Theory

The final two seasons of Big Bang saw Sheldon and Amy get married and start their lives together, and in that series finale, they both received Nobel prizes.

For Young Sheldon‘s finale, which jumps to the future, we find out that the series was just Sheldon writing his memoir this whole time, which tied in the fact that Jim was the narrator throughout the prequel’s seven seasons.

We also got an update on their children – a son named Leonard, and a daughter, whose name was not revealed.

Leonard plays hockey for the Pasadena, confirming they haven’t moved that far from the apartment building they all lived in. Their daughter, takes after Penny (Kaley Cuoco) in wanting to get into acting.

“Your daughter wants to take acting classes,” Amy tells Sheldon, to which he replies, “I told you we never should have let Penny babysit.”

There were also loads of Easter eggs in the set of Sheldon’s office, from his Nobel prize, a Flash mug, the couch from apartment 4A, and there was also an appearance by UCLA professor David Saltzberg, an experimental particle physicist, who served as a scientific consultant on both shows!

In case you forgot, there will be a new Young Sheldon spinoff debuting this Fall on CBS, with four stars reprising their roles.
