Young Sheldon series finale spoilers follow.
The Young Sheldon finale (titled ‘Memoir’) has revealed that The Big Bang Theory‘s Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler are now parents to two children.
Following last week’s heartbreaking George Sr twist, the Young Sheldon curtain-closer saw kid Sheldon speaking in front of everyone at his father’s funeral service.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about the last moments I had with my dad. It was morning, and he was leaving for work. He said, ‘See y’all later.’ And I said nothing. I regret that. I could have said ‘Bye’ or asked him for a ride. Or told him that I loved him. But I didn’t,” he seemingly shared, but a voiceover from adult Sheldon confirmed otherwise.

“I wish I could tell you I said all those things. But I didn’t,” the theoretical particle physicist said, and then came a huge revelation.
“For a long time, I focused on my father’s shortcomings. Now that I’m his age and have kids of my own, I realise he was just a person doing the best he could, and he did a lot. I didn’t say it at his funeral, but I can say it now. I loved my father. I will miss him forever.”
Sheldon continued: “Even as a child, I was always doing things to make other people happy,” before being cut off by his wife Amy.
“Doing things to make other people happy? You’ve got to be kidding me,” she quipped, reminding her husband that he took part in a Zoom seminar while she was giving birth.
“You were taking forever to dilate, and I had already made my contribution to the project. Which, need I remind you, was on your birthday,” replied Sheldon.
He was then told to get ready for their son’s hockey match. “Oh, I’m not going to that,” he said, with Amy questioning: “Terrific. What do you mean you’re not going?”
“Children on skates hitting a rubber puck with a stick. Why would I want to see that?” Sheldon asked. “Because Leonard is your son, and he is one of those children,” fired back Amy, revealing that they’d named their boy after Sheldon’s roommate Leonard Hofstadter.
Ahead of their family trip out, Amy also claimed their daughter wanted to take acting classes, leading to Sheldon’s response: “I told you we never should’ve let Penny babysit.”
