A Hollywood memorabilia collector has reportedly uncovered several pages from an unproduced I Love Lucy script — and it’s giving fans a fascinating glimpse into what could have been.
The script, dated 1954, appears to outline an episode in which Lucy Ricardo accidentally gets hired as a live mannequin in a department store window, causing chaos as crowds gather outside. According to the pages, Ricky was supposed to stumble upon her mid-performance and mistake the scene for a publicity stunt.
While Desilu Productions has not confirmed the authenticity of the script, longtime fans are thrilled at the discovery. Television historian Marlene Keller says,
“This plot would have fit perfectly with Lucy’s physical comedy style. If real, it’s a wonderful ‘what might have been’ moment for the show.”
Collectors are already speculating on the script’s value, while some fans are calling for a table read with surviving cast members or modern sitcom stars to bring the lost story to life.
