They share the same blood. But they’re hunting each other.
In what may be Tracker‘s boldest twist yet, Season 3 is reportedly introducing a character that could destroy everything Colter Shaw believes about himself — a half-brother who’s been living off the grid for years, operating in the shadows under a different name: Jesse Vale.
According to leaked documents and rumors from the production team, Jesse Vale is a former bounty hunter, trained in the same logic-based survivalist style Colter was raised on — but with a far darker edge. Some crew members even describe him as “Colter, if he had chosen chaos.”
The reveal begins subtly. In Episode 7, Colter receives a cryptic voicemail:
“You’re following ghosts, Colter. I’m following justice. Don’t get in my way.”
At first, Colter believes it’s a prank — until he starts noticing signs that someone is mirroring his every move, but staying one step ahead. Trail markers he didn’t leave, fake leads planted to mislead him, and more chillingly… someone removing people after Colter questions them.
A hidden photo found in Episode 8 is the turning point: a childhood image of Colter’s father, Ashton Shaw, standing next to a boy no one in the family ever talked about. A boy who looks eerily like Colter. That boy, the script hints, is Jesse — the result of Ashton’s alleged affair with a woman from a covert survivalist community in northern Canada.
But Jesse isn’t seeking family. He’s tracking the same target as Colter — a corrupt private contractor involved in human trafficking and blackmail. The difference? Jesse wants blood.
Sources suggest that Colter and Jesse finally come face-to-face in Episode 9, after a tense sequence where both are trapped in a flooding mine. Their confrontation isn’t just physical — it’s ideological. Jesse accuses Colter of wasting his gifts helping strangers, while he claims to “finish what their father started.”
The psychological duel ends with Colter realizing that Jesse has been following him for months, watching him, studying him — waiting for the right moment to confront him. And now, he has a warning:
“You’re either with me, or you’re next.”
Justin Hartley has teased the upcoming conflict, saying:
“Colter has always had a code. But what happens when someone shows up who shares your DNA — but none of your conscience?”
The fanbase is already divided. Some hope for a redemption arc, others believe Jesse may be the final villain of the season — or even a potential spin-off character. There’s even a theory floating online that Jesse knows something Colter doesn’t: that Ashton Shaw isn’t dead… and Jesse’s been hiding him.
If true, Season 3 could end with a shocking reunion that breaks Colter emotionally and morally.
One thing is certain: Colter’s greatest mystery is no longer out there — it’s in his blood.
