“Beverly Hillbillies” hits the stage with musical twist

The beloved characters of the Beverly Hillbillies are making a triumphant return, but this time in the form of local actors gracing the West Point Community Theatre stage with their charm and humor. The production, spearheaded by director Marlene Wiechman and assistant director Jean Stieren, captures the essence of the original show with a unique theatrical flair.

For those familiar with the TV series, the stage adaptation brings forth a renewed affection for the characters, rekindling memories of the iconic Clampett family’s misadventures in Beverly Hills. The show promises a mix of humor, heart, and toe-tapping musical numbers.

Performances of “The Beverly Hillbillies, The Musical” will take the stage five times, with shows on Friday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. and the following weekend on Friday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m. There is no performance on Saturday, March 23 due to the West Point Volunteer Fire and Rescue Banquet.

There will be a social one hour prior to curtain. Tickets are $12 and are available at F&M Bank, CharterWest Bank, BankFirst, and Citizens Bank, Flower & Gift Gallery, Petro Mart, online at www.westpointcommunitytheatre.org and at the door, if available.
