Salem’s story is far from over. Peacock has made its commitment to Days of Our Lives loud and clear, renewing the iconic daytime drama for two additional seasons, extending its run through Season 63 and securing its future through the 2027–2028 TV and streaming season.
This new multi-year pickup, announced on Wednesday, comes as a major vote of confidence from the streamer. Previously, DOOL had only been renewed for one more season, which would have carried it through 2025–2026. Now, with this extended deal in place, Days will continue to be a staple of Peacock’s programming for years to come.
Since its exclusive move to Peacock in September 2022, Days of Our Lives has defied expectations, proving that its storytelling power remains as compelling as ever. The beloved soap has consistently ranked among the platform’s top 15 entertainment series, a testament to its enduring relevance in the streaming age.
Currently in its milestone 61st season, DOOL shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, the series just earned a stunning 13 Daytime Emmy nominations—its highest tally since joining Peacock. Among the honors is a nomination for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, further solidifying Days as a genre mainstay that continues to deliver.
Executive producer Ken Corday made the renewal announcement directly on set, sharing his excitement with cast and crew. “The future of Days of Our Lives has never been brighter,” he said. “This is a celebration for us without doubt—continuing with our NBCU family, 60 years this fall and beyond. Our on- and off-screen family is excited to keep exploring and telling meaningful and fun stories for many, many more years to come.”
Among the Emmy-nominated stars are Greg Rikaart (Leo), Eric Martsolf (Brady), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), and Paul Telfer (Xander), all of whom joined the Michael Fairman Channel’s Daytime Emmy Nominations Special 2025 to reflect on the show’s current momentum.
The Emmy spotlight also shines on Blake Berris (Everett Lynch), Emily O’Brien (Theresa Donovan), and Ashley Puzemis, the young actress who portrays Holly Jonas, and earned a nomination in the emerging talent category—signaling the next generation of Salem standouts. Behind the scenes, DOOL also scored nods in several critical creative categories, including writing, directing, and casting, reflecting the show’s all-around excellence both on and off the screen.
Produced by Corday Productions Inc. in partnership with Sony Pictures Television, Days of Our Lives continues to make television history as the longest-running scripted series in the world. Its global appeal spans across countries including Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Israel, South Africa, and Australia, with its audience growing stronger by the year.
With a rich legacy behind it and a renewed future ahead, Days of Our Lives remains not only a cornerstone of daytime television—but a thriving, evolving narrative that still knows how to capture hearts. For longtime fans and new viewers alike, the message is clear: Salem isn’t going anywhere.
