Golden Bachelor fan-favorite claims she ‘warned’ Theresa Nist about marrying Gerry Turner before they announced divorce

A Golden Bachelor breakout has gotten backlash for revealing the truth about Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner’s relationship

Amid the golden pair’s divorce, a Golden Bachelor fan-favorite recently revealed that she actually had warned Theresa, 70, about jumping the broom with Gerry, 72.

The Golden Bachelor’s April Kirkwood, 66, took to Instagram to comfort Theresa yesterday.

Theresa and Gerry had both announced on social media on Friday, April 12, that they were divorcing.

On Monday, April 15, Theresa thanked fans for supporting her through her public divorce on Instagram.

“To everyone who has expressed love, support and kindness to me I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all such wonderful human beings,” Theresa captioned her post on Monday.

The Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and the show's winning contestant Theresa Nist called it quits

“It means the world to me that you took the time to reach out to me, whether in person, on the phone, by text or by direct message. You are all so kind to do so.”

April confessed in Theresa’s Instagram comment section on Monday that she was rooting for her during this tough time.

“I wish you the very best,” April said under Theresa’s post.

“I truly tried to tell you, but this was your lesson to experience. Much love!”

April’s remark sparked a few reactions from fans, including comedian Dave Neal.

She eventually replied to a questioning commenter, sticking by her initial statement in Theresa’s comment section.

“I care for all women in the world. I want us all to learn from each other and be smart and empowered,” April wrote.

“Lessons offer us the opportunity. We’ve all had our hearts broken … what we do with it is entirely up to us! Let’s rock this world Ladies. Therese [sic] can lead the way!”

“I would like to publicly apologize for my error in judgment. I sincerely meant no ill will,” April wrote.

“I wish all women only peace and power to be their best selves. This was not the one for me. Much love and gratitude for understanding.”

While some fans weren’t open to receiving April’s apology, she did at least have some people who offered her kind words.

Golden Bachelor runner-up Leslie Fhima, 65, was one who showered her with some love.

“I love you my friend. I’m so happy to call you that,” Leslie commented. “You’re beautiful inside and out.”
