New images from FBI: International season 3 reveal a closer look at Colin Donnell’s new character, right off the heels of a major departure for the series. The latest episode of the procedural series had previously been announced as the final one for Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank), though there had been no indication he would be departing from the team. It was also previously announced that Donnell would be guest starring in season 3’s final two episodes, though it was unclear in what capacity at the time.
Now, TVLine has released images showing Donnell as NSA Agent Brian Lange, a guest character in FBI: International season 3. The newcomer is sent to assist the Fly Team after the owner of a cybersecurity company is mysteriously killed, resulting in a massive data leak. Images show Donnell’s character as a competent, capable agent with a level of sternness to him. Check out the new images of him on the show below.
What Colin Donnell’s Guest Role Means For FBI: International Season 3
The next episode will be Donnell’s debut episode, also featuring Scott having gone dark following the events of the previous episode. While it didn’t appear as if he was going to be leaving the team, it seems the final two episodes will be dealing with both a new case and the sudden vanishing of the team leader. Joining the new guest star is also Teri Polo (NCIS), who will appear in an undisclosed role during season 3’s final episodes.
Donnell doesn’t seem to be coming to the series as a possible permanent member of the Fly Team, his status as an NSA agent seemingly a serious role for him based on the images. However, it seems he’ll be an invaluable member of the team as well, using his unique skills to help out with the investigation. The only uncertainty about him is if he’ll be involved with trying to uncover where Scott went. While it seems this will be addressed given the previous episode was his last, the way it’s handled may involve the new NSA character.
Despite only being a guest star on the show, Donnell’s presence could be the perfect setup for FBI: International season 4, helping to usher in the next team leader. His appearance in two episodes means this case will be one of the biggest the team has tackled, indicating how dangerous it could be. However, with the newcomer acting as a key part of the team in the finale, it seems he’ll have plenty of time to develop despite his guest appearance.
