Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 episode 4: Three cheers for American comfort food, clip

Even though the most recent dinner service did not get a robust round of applause, Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 episode 4 kicks off the episode with some spirit. As seen in this clip, these cheerleaders can hopefully push the chefs to impress with classic American comfort food.

While this Hell’s Kitchen is all about the American Dream, sometimes that quest for greatness is not achieved. The first two dinner services have seen undercooked proteins, lack of communication, and other avoidable mistakes. Although a redemption story can make the triumph more gratifying, avoiding the Gordon Ramsay tirade is always preferable.

In Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 episode 4, “Gimme an H!,” everyone wants the cheers to last through the final plate is served. FOX has provided the following synopsis.

“The contestants are put to the test when they must cook one of eight inspired, elevated takes on an American comfort food dish be it a cheeseburger, mac n’ cheese, or even a lobster roll! Some dishes miss the mark, but the lucky winning team prevails and wins a glorious overnight getaway to Santa Barbara. The losing team must bake a behemoth of bread by hand grinding the flour using a mortar and pestle. When the contestants’ third dinner service comes around and they must serve the likes of actress Jennie Garth and model Nikki Howard they feel the heat in the all-new “Gimme an H!” episode of Hell’s Kitchen airing Thursday, Oct. 19 (8:00 PM – 9:00 PM) on FOX.”

Hell's Kitchen' season 19 finale recap: Did Kori or Mary Lou win? - GoldDerby

Since this Hell’s Kitchen season is celebrating many All-American concepts, this episode kicks off the first challenge with a classic, cheerleaders. In a special clip provided to FoodSided, check out this rousing performance.

While the visual makes for a great episode opener, the chefs could glean a bigger point from this performance. The excitement and enthusiasm are great, but the cheerleaders have to work as a team. No one can be on top of the pyramid without a strong foundation. Maybe instead of all the bickering, these chefs can find a way to start creating that essential trust on the line.

Looking at the comfort food challenge, elevating those classic dishes is not as easy as it seems. It is more than putting truffles on a burger or lobster in mac and cheese. These dishes need to balance creativity without losing the integrity of the original dish.

Given the big reward associated with this challenge, it will be interesting to see if a punishment pass is redeemed. An overnight getaway seems much more inviting that grinding the night away.

Will the Red and Blue Kitchens complete dinner service on Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 episode 4? Everyone will be cheering for that outcome.

Tune into new episodes of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX, Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Episodes can be streamed the next day on Hulu.
