Grey’s Anatomystar Caterina Scorsone recently sent a blunt political message alongside a photo of her daughter, Paloma “Pippa” Michaela Giles, in the hospital.
On Saturday, July 5, the actress behind Dr. Amelia Shepherd took to Instagram with three snapshots and a bold declaration.
“The America that I still believe in has healthcare for all,” Scorsone, 43, captioned her update, which notably included a snap of Pippa in a hospital bed. “It understands that economies have historically existed to provide for the people, rather than people existing -or ceasing to exist, to provide for the needs of bloated and exploitative economies.”
The mom of three concluded, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them. Healthcare for all is the point. -Profit without the point is psychopathy.”
Although she didn’t specifically mention it, President Donald Trumpsigned the “big beautiful bill” into law on July 4, making major cuts to Medicaid, SNAP and more.
It’s unclear whether the picture of Pippa the hospital is recent or old. Still, Scorsone’s followers shared their support for her message and concern for her daughter in the comments.
One Instagram user wrote, “So agree! Sure hope sweet Pippa is okay. ♥️.”
Another fan shared, “This is such a devastating time. Thank you for using your platform to speak up for families like ours- it’s highly concerning how few people are.”

In addition to Pippa, 8, who was born with Down syndrome, Scorsone shares two other daughters, Eliza Giles, almost 13, and Lucinda “Lucky” Giles, 5, with her ex-husband, Rob Giles.
