Gordon Ramsay Stunned by ‘Dangerous’ Dish in New Kitchen Nightmares Clip—And His Reaction Says It All

As the star of Kitchen NightmaresGordon Ramsay has sampled some highly unappetizing restaurant fare over the years—but the Michelin-starred chef has his limits.

In a trailer for the new season of Kitchen Nightmares: Road to Super Bowl LIX, Ramsay visited Iberville Cuisine & Oyster Bar in New Orleans with the intention of helping the business to improve ahead of the Super Bowl. As viewers know, the celebrity chef always kicks off an episode of the reality series by trying the food at the restaurants he’s attempting to rehabilitate…but in this case, the celebrity chef had to make a quick decision in the interest of his own safety.

The clip showed a server bringing Ramsay Cajun fries and raw oysters, neither of which were up to the star’s standards.

After the restaurant worker assured him that the oysters were “local,” Ramsay ran his fingers over the shell, discovering black sludge.

“It doesn’t look very fresh,” he said, prompting the server to admit that the restaurant got the oysters two days earlier and “didn’t clean them very well.”

That’s when Ramsay sent the oysters back without tasting them.

“I mean, oysters are dangerous enough but honestly I just recently had my sixth kid, Jesse James. I’d love to be around to celebrate his 1st birthday so I’ll pass on that one.” he said, noting, “It’s got clay and s–t.”

“God bless you, Jesse. Fingers crossed I’m coming home, kid,” he added as the server took the offending plate away.

The mortified server let the kitchen staff have it as she brought the oysters back, shouting, “How the f–k do you serve Gordon Ramsay a dirty oyster? It’s not even shucked! Like how the f–k do you serve him that?”

As People reported, the first half of the new season of Kitchen Nightmares is set in the Big Easy, where Ramsay tries to help restaurants ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 9 at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome. The next part of the season will see Ramsay head to Austin and Houston.
