Fans of Virgin River can breathe easy — the hit Netflix drama isn’t going anywhere. The streaming giant has officially renewed the series for an eighth season, even before Season 7 has aired.
Based on Robyn Carr’s bestselling novels, Virgin River continues to captivate audiences with its heartfelt storylines and scenic small-town charm. The show stars Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith expressed his gratitude for the show’s continued success and fan support, saying:
“On behalf of myself and the whole Virgin River family, we’re eternally grateful to Netflix and to the fans for allowing us to continue on this journey with these beloved characters.”
He also gave a small peek at what’s in store for Season 7, via Tudum:
“Season 7 will find Mel and Jack taking their first steps into marriage as they start to plan for and build a life and family together. Meanwhile, Doc and Hope will work together to protect the clinic and the integrity of the town from outsiders.”
Netflix has not yet revealed the official release date for Season 7, but fans can expect it to drop sometime in late 2025 or early 2026, based on the production timeline.
