After more than seven years and nearly 160 episodes, one of NCIS: Los Angeles’ biggest mysteries is finally being solved.
Special Agent G. Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell), the elusive and fiercely private operative fans have followed since the series began, is about to learn the truth behind his own name—specifically, what the “G” actually stands for.
Entertainment Weekly has learned exclusively that the long-awaited reveal is set to happen in an episode airing this February.
“It was always the plan to uncover Callen’s identity before the series wrapped,” said executive producer Shane Brennan. “We’ve had a lot of fun piecing together his past over the years—where he came from, who he really is—and I always wanted to give fans the chance to experience that final piece of the puzzle.”
But even with this major revelation, Brennan hinted that Callen’s journey is far from finished. “While he’s now discovered his name, the odyssey doesn’t end here,” he added. “In many ways, it’s only just beginning.”
Fans of NCIS: LA have waited patiently as Callen’s backstory unfolded bit by bit—through mysterious files, cryptic flashbacks, and covert missions. Now, they’ll finally get the answer to the question that has lingered since the pilot: Who is G. Callen?
