The Other Zoey, the new rom-com starring After Everything’s Josephine Langford and Outer Banks’ Drew Starkey, has unveiled first-look pictures.
The film sees Langford star as Zoey, a “brilliant college student determined to challenge conventional ideas of love and dating”.
The synopsis continues: “Her life takes an exhilarating turn when Zach (Starkey), a college football player suffering from amnesia, mistakenly believes she is his girlfriend. Before she can reveal the truth, she meets Zach’s cousin, Miles (Archie Renaux), with whom she has a lot in common.
“Pretending to be Zach’s girlfriend, she realises she has feelings for both of them and is forced to confront her fears to make an impossible decision – picking between the two of them.”
The supporting cast includes Mallori Johnson, Better Call Saul’s Patrick Fabian, Heather Graham and Andie MacDowell, with the script being penned by Matthew Tabak. Sara Zandieh, who had previously made A Simple Wedding, is on directing duties.
The film is currently scheduled to be released in US cinemas on October 20, before a wider release on demand from November 10.
Langford is best known for her role as Tessa Young in the After film series, with the star reprising her role in the fifth and final film in the franchise, After Everything.
The final film, which is the first in the series to not be based on source material, has received criticism from fans for Langford’s minimal screen-time, with much of the action being devoted to Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s Hardin.
“Where’s Jo? Oh, I forgot, you guys don’t care! This movie was one big FU to [author Anna Todd], Jo, and the real Hessa/book fans,” wrote one fan, with another adding: “Saw the movie last night. Huge disrespect towards Jo and her incredible work as our Tessa.”
