A private cove, floral linen, and a waterfall vow exchange — inside their poetic elopement in paradise
Chicago Fire’s Jake Lockett and actress Dominique Domingo have officially tied the knot — and their love story couldn’t have found a more romantic ending… or beginning.
After keeping their union under wraps, the newlyweds confirmed to PEOPLE that they eloped on June 18, 2025, in an intimate and nature-first ceremony on the lush island of Kauai, Hawaii.
💑 A Waterfall, a Promise, a Beginning
Set near the breathtaking Kalihiwai Falls, a cascading two-tiered waterfall nestled in a secluded cove, the couple’s ceremony embraced the serenity of its surroundings. Greenery, trees, wildflowers, and the sounds of rushing water created a fairytale setting that echoed the deeply personal symbolism of their love story.
“We wanted the vibe to be serene, intimate, and peaceful,” Domingo shared. “And that’s exactly what it was.”
For Lockett, the setting held a full-circle significance. Three months before he met Domingo — in the lobby of a commercial audition — he had written a love song at the base of a waterfall in Yellowstone, asking his future wife to “stay true and be patient.”
“Being able to get married by a waterfall was full circle for me,” Lockett said, still moved by the moment.
👗 Style Meets Soul: What They Wore
🔸 Jake Lockett:
The Chicago Fire actor chose an Irish linen suit from KERCHER, featuring Hawaiian floral lining — a subtle nod to their wedding location. Inside the collar, the couple’s wedding date was discreetly sewn, adding a sentimental detail to his classic look.
🔸 Dominique Domingo:
The bride wore a flowing white gown by Maggie Sottero, opting for understated elegance that let the natural backdrop shine. She glowed effortlessly, embodying the ceremony’s theme: “Letting nature take the lead.”
“There was no need for additional décor,” Domingo noted. “Mother Nature handled it all.”
👨👩👧👦 A Wedding Meant for Two (Plus Four)
True to their private spirits, the couple’s guest list was limited to just their parents, photographer Ashley Uptain, and videographer Zac Ramos. Even the couple’s families met for the very first time that week in Hawaii — adding a layer of emotional depth to the experience.
“We wanted to keep it simple,” Lockett explained. “Not overcomplicate a once-in-a-lifetime moment. We wanted to focus on each other.”
The families dressed in earth-toned attire, blending with the natural surroundings in perfect harmony.
🎶 A Love Story Written in Lyrics
Jake Lockett’s connection to nature and music runs deep. His waterfall-inspired song predating his first encounter with Domingo is the kind of serendipity you’d expect from a rom-com — except it’s very real.
That early song, rooted in patience and hope, foreshadowed a bond that would soon bloom. Now, with their vows exchanged near a waterfall under the Hawaiian sun, the lyrics have taken on a new life: a beginning, not just a wish.
🌺 A Wedding Like No Other
In a world of over-the-top celebrity weddings, Jake Lockett and Dominique Domingo’s elopement stood out for its purity, intimacy, and meaning. From the quiet cove to the whispered vows, every element spoke to who they are — as individuals and now as husband and wife.
Their story reminds us that the most magical weddings aren’t always the grandest — sometimes, they’re the ones where nature plays the music, the waterfall sets the stage, and love speaks loudest in silence.
💫 Congratulations to Jake & Dominique!
Here’s to a lifetime of full-circle moments and quiet magic.
