
Melody Thomas Scott has been charming daytime audiences as the lovable Nikki Reed Newman since 1979. Now, the award-winning actress is being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The fan favorite actress was announced to be getting a star by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce today, with the star being unveiled in 2026.
Scott is celebrating 46 years in daytime and is half of the supercouple pairing with Victor Newman portrayed by award winner Eric Braeden.
Scott’s professional career began in 1964 when she played a young Marnie in the Alfred Hitchcock film, Marnie. She made her television debut a year later in 1965 as Samantha in the series Wagon Train. Scott then made appearances on Ironside, Secrets, Code R, Fish, The Waltons, Charlie’s Angels, Makin’ It, Blly, and The Rockford Files before joining The Young and the Restless in 1979.
Scott married her husband, award winning television producer Edward ‘Ed’ Scott in 1985. The couple met on the set of The Young and the Restless, where he worked on and off until his retirement on June 4 of this year.
In 2024, the duo were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmys where the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognized them for their decades of work on The Young and the Restless and outstanding contributions to the daytime drama genre.
Scott’s co-star Braeden received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in 2007.
In 2020 Scott released a memoir Always Young and Restless: My life on and off America’s #1 Daytime Drama.
