Since 2019, romance lovers everywhere have been captivated by Netflix’s Virgin River. And year after year, the streaming giant has greenlit season after season due to its virality. Now, though, the future of the beloved series remains uncertain.
On Friday, June 20, Benjamin Hollingsworth (Brady) commemorated the end of an era on Instagram. “First day of Summer and Last day of Filming Season 7 of Virgin River,” he captioned the carousel.
While that quip alone says nothing of the end of the series, as it currently stands, Netflix hasn’t released the season 7 premiere date, let alone confirmed an eighth season. Fans and fellow Virgin River actors are hopeful the story continues, though.
“Wow, time flew by so quickly! Thank you all for your continued support of our ‘little show,’” Colin Lawrence (Preacher) captioned a Reel, in which he reflected on the filming and shared that he was hopeful for “more to come,” a sentiment many fans echoed back to him, Benjamin, and the rest of the Virgin River cast.
“Patiently waiting for season 7..8…9…10…11…” one fan commented. “Love you guys and this show and hope it continues for a long time!! Please tell the one who put it all together to HURRY!! It’s so frustrating waiting so long!! You and everyone enjoy your ‘offseason,’” someone else exclaimed. “Don’t ever want it to end,” another fan chimed in.
Us either! In the meantime, now, we wait. Virgin River Season 6 premiered in December 2024. Here’s hoping we get Season 7 before the end of the year, too.
