Unfortunately, the One Chicago TV shows on NBC – Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. – are always facing lots of turnover with their characters.
In the last few weeks, we’ve found out about three stars exiting two of the shows in the franchise.
We’re breaking down who is leaving, plus rumored reasons why.
Daniel Kyri – Exiti ng Chicago Fire
Daniel Kyri is one of the cast members who escaped on Chicago Fire this season.
Daniel joined the show in season 7 as Firefighter Darren Ritter in a recurring role before getting promoted to the main cast two seasons later.
Jack Lockett – Exiting Chicago Fire
Jack Lockett will escape Chicago Fire. He has been portraying Sam Carver since season 11. He started in a recurring role on the fan favorite NBC series and got bumped up to series regular for season 13.
Showrunner Andrea Newman alluded that the decision to cut Jake and Daniel was due to budget cuts on the show.
About Jake and Daniel leaving, she shared, “There weren’t a lot of creative decisions behind [the departures], because it all became this, like, ax falling across the network,” she said, alluding to the budget cuts that are the logical reason behind the exits.
“We love these characters and could play with them forever,” she said.
Toya Turner – Exiting Chicago PD
Toya Turner will not return as Kiana Cook for season 13 of the series.
If you don’t know, the 35-year-old actress joined the show in season 12.
Deadline confirmed the news, but did not elaborate on a reason why she’s leaving.
“I’m grateful for the time I had brought Kiana to life. Thank you to everyone who welcomed me so warmly,” she shared in a statement.
