It started as an off-screen spark between two Chicago Med cast members. Everyone noticed the long glances during table reads, the laughter between takes, the way scenes suddenly felt a little too charged. At first, producers were thrilled. Chemistry like that couldn’t be taught.
But what began as a private connection quickly escalated—and ended in one of the most dramatic off-screen implosions in franchise history.
According to multiple crew members, the actors began dating secretly midway through Season 7. They kept it professional on set—until a heated argument in a makeup trailer turned into a shouting match overheard by half the crew.
“She threw her script down and said, ‘I’m not your assistant off set,’” said one person who witnessed it. “He yelled back, ‘Don’t act like you weren’t into this more than me.’”
HR was immediately called in. Filming that day was shut down. The pair were separated on set for the next two weeks, and scripts were rewritten to remove most of their shared scenes.
But that wasn’t the end.
A formal complaint was reportedly filed by one of their stand-ins, citing an “inappropriate display of power imbalance,” though details were sealed by legal.
NBC considered issuing a warning—or worse, quietly releasing one of the actors from their contract. But after intense negotiations and mandatory conflict resolution sessions, both were kept on… under strict conditions.
To this day, the romance has never been publicly confirmed. But fans noticed the sudden shift in Season 8’s storyline—and the palpable tension in scenes where they were forced to interact.
What happened behind those locked dressing room doors may remain a mystery, but one thing is clear: the heat wasn’t just on camera.
