When Torrey DeVitto (Dr. Natalie Manning) left Chicago Med, fans were devastated. But what they didn’t know was that DeVitto was silently battling a personal health crisis throughout her final season.
She recently revealed in an emotional Instagram Live that she was diagnosed with severe endometriosis—and underwent multiple procedures while still filming.
“There were days I couldn’t stand up straight,” she said. “But I didn’t want to let the team down.”
Only a few crew members knew. One said, “She was in pain. But she never complained. She just kept going.”
Her decision to leave the show wasn’t about career—it was about health.
“I needed to heal,” she shared. “And to stop pretending I was okay.”
Today, DeVitto is using her platform to raise awareness about women’s health and chronic pain—giving fans a new reason to admire the woman behind Dr. Manning.
