Big Bang Theory’s 89% Fresh Spinoff Is Now a Global Streaming Sensation

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has found a comfortable place for itself at the top of the streaming charts.

Per Flix Patrol, the first season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has settled into the seventh spot on the top ten list for streaming shows on HBO Max for June 27. Currently, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is ahead of Married… with Children, This City Is Ours, and La Promesa, while the top spot on the list is dominated by Rick and Morty, largely thanks to the release of its own latest season.

A spinoff of Young Sheldon, which itself was a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage premiered on CBS in 2024 to largely positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The series features Montana Jordan and Emily Osment in reprisals of their roles as Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister. Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage rounds out its core cast with numerous returning stars including Zoe Perry, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord, Will Sasso, and Rachel Bay Jones, as well as incoming stars Kelly Goss, Christopher Gorham, and Matt Letscher.

Series co-creator and showrunner Steve Holland recently opened up about his hopes to see Letscher return to reprise his role as competing business owner and overt antagonist Fred Fagenbacher in the upcoming second season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. “It would be nice to have an antagonist [for Georgie and Ruben to] butt up against, and Matt’s so great [as Fred Fagenbacher],” Holland said. “He’s the antagonist in our show, and he always plays it with a bit of a smile on his face, and a little of that Southern, bless-your-heart, knife-in-your-back kind of charm, which I think is great.”

Who Else Can Fans Expect to Return for Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2?

Rachel Bay Jones, who portrays Audrey McAllister on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, recently sat down with co-star Will Sasso, who portrays Jim McAllister, to discuss who they would like to see return in Season 2. “I’m having a really good time with Zoe Perry, who plays Mary. That’s been really enriching,” Jones said. “We had a really good time working with Annie Potts [Meemaw] who is one of my best friends. Also, I think the more we can get Lance Barber in there as [the spirit of] Georgie’s dad, in some kind of fashion, the better.”

Sasso himself points out Wallace Shawn and Reba McEntire as his top two personal picks for guest stars he would like to see make a comeback.
