Firehouse 51 is getting a fresh face. Brandon Larracuente has officially joined the cast of Chicago Fire as a series regular for Season 14, Variety confirms exclusively — and his arrival couldn’t come at a more pivotal time.
Larracuente, known for roles in The Good Doctor, 13 Reasons Why, and Party of Five, steps in just as two fan-favorite firefighters exit the beloved NBC drama. Daniel Kyri, who portrayed Darren Ritter since Season 7, and Jake Lockett, who played Sam Carver since Season 11, will not be returning. The show has yet to reveal how either character will be written out, as Season 13 concluded without any definitive farewell storylines.
While the Chicago Fire team hasn’t disclosed details about Larracuente’s character, his addition signals a new chapter for the high-intensity squad. Most recently, the actor starred in On Call, the Dick Wolf-produced drama for Prime Video, which marked the franchise creator’s first venture into streaming — although the series will not return for a second season.
Larracuente is repped by Global Artists Agency, A Management, and Goodman Genow Schenkman. His casting in Chicago Fire continues a trend of rising talent making their mark in the One Chicago universe, often beginning as recurring players before becoming indispensable to the squad.
Behind the scenes, Chicago Fire continues under the direction of Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television. Executive producers include Dick Wolf, Peter Jankowski, Andrea Newman, Reza Tabrizi, and Matt Whitney.
NBC will bring back Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. this fall, giving fans their weekly dose of Windy City action. In addition, One Chicago fans can look forward to the official One Chicago Podcast, launching this fall from Wolf Entertainment and USG Audio. The weekly series promises behind-the-scenes stories and exclusive cast and crew interviews from across the franchise.
