We know that the Ahsoka Tano Star Wars series will be released this year, as this show will allow us to learn more about Ahsoka and her journey after the fall of the Empire. Of course, we know she is still alive and was around when Luke and the Rebels defeated the Emperor. But we also know that Ahsoka will inevitably die somewhere down the line. So, how did Ahsoka Tano die?
Ahsoka Tano’s death is yet to be shown, but we all know she will die. That’s because she was one of the voices of the dead Jedi that helped Rey defeat Darth Sidious at the end of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. As such, her death might come during the Ahsoka series.
Fans of the entire Star Wars continuity are already aware that death is going to come for Ahsoka in the near future. As such, many people are now waiting for what’s next in store for her in her upcoming story in the Ahsoka Tano series. But no matter where her journey takes her, Ahsoka’s death is approaching. Now, let’s look at how Ahsoka will die.
Is Ahsoka Dead?
One of the Star Wars characters that fans took time to love is Ahsoka Tano, who was introduced as an annoying Padawan during the events of Star Wars: Clone Wars but quickly became one of the most well-written characters in the entire lore. Of course, Ahsoka used to be the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker before she left the Jedi Order and before Anakin fell to the dark side and became Darth Vader. And we all know that Ahsoka survived the events of Order 66 because she was an important character in the Star Wars: Rebels series.
Ahsoka also survived the original trilogy even though she wasn’t in the movies. This was explained in the Rebels series as she was lost in time and was out on a personal journey while the Rebels were fighting the Empire. And her survival was confirmed when Ahsoka made cameo appearances in season 2 of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
How Did Ahsoka Get Her White Lightsabers? Explained
Of course, we all know that Ahsoka was not present during the events of the sequel trilogy, as the only Jedi that existed during that time were Rey, Luke, and Leia. So, does that mean that Ahsoka is already dead in the current Star Wars timeline?
As far as the events of the sequel trilogy are concerned, Ahsoka is indeed dead. Unlike the original trilogy, the sequel trilogy ensured that the only Jedi left in the world were Rey and Ben Solo (Kylo Ren), especially after the deaths of both Luke and Leia. By the time of the events of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, Darth Sidious confirmed that only Rey and Ben had a strong connection to the Force, which was why he wanted to siphon their powers to return to his former glory as the Sith Emperor.
After Rey fell and was too weak to fight, we also heard the voices of all of the prominent Jedi speaking to her from beyond the afterlife so that they could push her to fight Sidious. One of the voices we heard was Ahsoka’s voice. That means that Ahsoka was already dead during the time of the sequel trilogy.
Of course, as far as the timeline of The Mandalorian is concerned, Ahsoka Tano is still very much alive. In fact, her story will continue in the Ahsoka series, which is set to see a release date sometime in 2023.
There’s also the fact that Ahsoka died once in canon, but during an incident that she, Anakin, and Obi-Wan merely dismissed as a dream or, quite possibly, an illusion set by the Separatists. That was when they met the Force trio of the Father, the Son, and the Daughter. This was the first time that Ahsoka died, as we are yet to see her second and true death.
How Did Ahsoka Die?
At this point, we already know that Ahsoka will die somewhere down the line because she was already dead during the events of the sequel trilogy. Her story will be continued in the Ahsoka series on Disney+, and there’s a good chance that her death will be shown and explained in that series. That’s because the Star Wars shows on Disney+ are notorious for filling in the gaps left by the movies, and one gap that the Ahsoka series might fill up is the titular character’s death.
In that regard, fans should brace themselves for the possibility of Ahsoka dying in the Ahsoka series. But because there are still around 20 to 25 years between the timeline of the Ahsoka series and the events of the sequel trilogy, Lucasfilm still has many years left to tell the story of Ahsoka’s death. That means there’s also a good chance that her death will be told much later.
Why Does Ahsoka Have Markings on Face & What Do They Mean?
As to her first death, which happened during the events of the Clone Wars, Ahsoka died during the time that she, Anakin, and Obi-Wan found themselves trapped on a weird planet called Mortis, which was the home of the Father, the Son, and the Daughter. These three are called the Force Trio, as they are powerful entities with Force abilities that far surpass anything that the Jedi or the Sith could do.
During one of the events in Mortis, Ahsoka turned to the dark side when she got corrupted by the Son, who represented the dark side of the Force. This happened when the Son tried to tempt Anakin to join him. However, when Anakin would not budge, the Son instantly drained Ahsoka’s life force to kill her.
the Son Kills Ahsoka Tano | Star Wars Clone Wars
The Son turned his attention to the Father so that he could kill him. But the Daughter lunged and took the blow that would have killed the Father. The Daughter, who represented the light side of the Force, told Anakin that he could use her as a conduit to save Ahsoka’s life. As such, Ahsoka has resurrected thanks to the sacrifice of the Daughter.
It is unknown whether or not this event actually happened, but what we know is that the trio of Ahsoka, Anakin, and Obi-Wan dismissed it as a weird event that may or may not have happened because no time passed between their trip to Mortis and their return to the Republic fleet. As such, there’s a good chance that this event happened merely in their subconscious.
