It should surprise no one that McKenna can’t wait to have Slezak on General Hospital. The actor recently spoke out on the hot topic, revealing he heard the news firsthand from executive producer Frank Valentini.
“I was in Frank’s office. He told me last week before the news dropped, and I couldn’t believe it. I did cry a little, and I might again,” he shared.
McKenna admits it’s been an emotional roller coaster and a dream come true for him. The actor never thought it would happen, especially after a conversation he had with Slezak, during which she never mentioned that she was in talks to be part of the ABC soap.
“When I heard it was really happening, it blew my mind. I am so excited,” the actor revealed, noting that he gets emotional when thinking about reuniting with Slezak again.
It’s been quite a while since the One Life to Live alums saw each other. After her casting news broke, Slezak sent McKenna a message, sharing her excitement about meeting his family this fall when she begins filming at General Hospital.There’s no question that McKenna can’t wait to work with Slezak again, or at least on the same show as her. McKenna also took to X to announce, “I’m over the moon,” about Slezak’s casting news.
