Eric Christian Olsen Shares Sweet Glimpse Into Family Life With Mini-Me Kids Ahead of Baby No. 4

There’s no shortage of love or laughter in Eric Christian Olsen’s household — and his 48th birthday celebration was proof of just that.

On Saturday, May 31, the NCIS: Los Angeles star rang in a milestone birthday surrounded by the people who mean the most to him: his wife, actress and podcast host Sarah Wright Olsen, and their three children — with baby number four expected any day.

Dancing, Laughing, Loving: A Birthday to Remember

To mark the special occasion, Sarah shared a carousel of intimate, heartwarming family moments on Instagram, kicking it off with a sweet slow-dancing video of her and Eric — as their kids looked on with wide-eyed smiles and giggles.

From there, fans were treated to a photo album filled with tender snapshots of Eric with his mini-me children over the years, along with throwbacks to the early days of his romance with Sarah.

“Forever and ever and ever holding your hand, watching you with our babies, going on adventures and dancing in any living room as long as it’s with you,” Sarah wrote in a heartfelt caption.

“Happy 48 to my dream guy.”

A Growing Family, A Deep Love

Eric and Sarah have been married since 2012, after first meeting in 2006 on the set of The Loop, and getting engaged in 2011 during a Mexican getaway. Their dreamy Jackson Hole wedding a year later, set against the breathtaking Teton Mountains, kicked off a journey that would soon include a growing brood and decades of memories.

Today, the couple are proud parents to:

  • Wyatt Oliver, 11

  • Esme Olivia, 8

  • Winter Story, 4

  • And soon, a fourth child, with Sarah already at 39 weeks when Eric’s birthday rolled around.

Celebrity Fans React

The Instagram post quickly racked up comments from celebrity friends and fans alike.

  • Actress Riley Keough wrote: “This is so sweet.”

  • Rumer Willis chimed in: “You guys are the cutest.”

  • Others echoed the sentiment with comments like: “Couple goals!!!!! Happy Birthday Eric!!!” and “Thank you dear Sarah for sharing these beautiful moments with us.”

From Heartbreak to Hope

Earlier this year, the couple faced devastating loss when their family home was destroyed in the Los Angeles Palisades Fire. Sarah shared the emotional news in January, writing:

“We lost our home. It was one of the first areas to go… It’s so hard to say goodbye to our gorgeous town, our special school and this place we have loved for 13 years.”

Yet, even amid tragedy, the Olsen family found strength and support. Eric’s brother, David Paul Olsen, and sister-in-law Daniela Ruah (Eric’s NCIS: LA co-star), opened their doors to house the family — along with five kids, six adults, and three dogs — offering what Eric later called “effortless grace.”

Gratitude and Resilience

Following their loss, Eric shared a moving tribute on social media, reflecting on the kindness they received and the depth of their gratitude. Inspired by Kathy Bates, who acknowledged him at the Critics Choice Awards after her Matlock win, he wrote:

“I do take moments to digest, to acknowledge and authentically process what is lost… But I have been perpetually blown away, eyes pooled, tears racing, by the kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity of our friends, family and complete strangers.”

A New Chapter Begins

Now, just weeks after the family’s loss, they’re preparing to welcome new life — with baby number four ready to arrive any day. And while the Olsens may no longer live in the same house where their kids took their first steps, it’s clear their home is wherever they are together.

From beachside bump updates to living room dance parties, Eric Christian Olsen and Sarah Wright Olsen’s love story is the kind that grows stronger through life’s highs and lows — always rooted in joy, resilience, and the unshakable bond of family.
