From TV sets to a mountain wedding, four kids, and a podcast empire — Eric Christian Olsen and Sarah Wright Olsen are living their real-life love story.
As NCIS: Los Angeles star Eric Christian Olsen prepares to celebrate 13 years of marriage with wife Sarah Wright Olsen on June 23, 2025, the couple is also on the cusp of welcoming baby number four into their bustling, joy-filled household.
And while Eric may be best known as the charming and quick-witted Marty Deeks, at home he’s simply “Dad” — and the loving husband to Sarah, an actress, mother, and co-host of the popular motherhood podcast The Mother Daze.
Love Born on Set
Eric and Sarah’s love story began nearly two decades ago in 2006 when they were both cast in Fox’s short-lived comedy The Loop. Their shared on-screen experience quickly turned into an off-screen romance. After five years of dating, Eric popped the question during a romantic getaway to Mexico in 2011.
Just a year later, the two tied the knot in Wyoming’s breathtaking Jackson Hole, with the Teton Mountains serving as their wedding backdrop. Sarah was every bit the summer bride in a strapless J.Crew gown, delicate flower crown, and glowing smile. Eric told People at the time:
“There was never a moment of doubt with Sarah because no one makes me happier, no one makes me laugh more, and I can’t imagine a better mother for our future children.”
Meet the Olsen Crew
That “future” Eric spoke of? It came true in full force. The Olsens are now a tight-knit unit of six — well, nearly.
Their children include:
-
Wyatt Oliver, 11
-
Esme Olivia, 8
-
Winter Story, 4 — their “rainbow baby” born after a difficult journey
-
And soon, baby #4, who’s expected to arrive any moment now.
Sarah has shared openly about the challenges of her third pregnancy, making Winter’s arrival all the more meaningful. On her third birthday, Sarah revealed Winter’s name was chosen as a family, and described her daughter as the light at the end of an emotional chapter.
A Life of Love, Loss & Resilience
2024 wasn’t without its trials for the Olsens — the family lost their Los Angeles home in the wildfires. But in classic Olsen style, they turned hardship into community strength.
Eric penned a heartfelt message to fans and friends, thanking them for their support. He also praised his brother David Paul Olsen (stunt double and husband to Eric’s NCIS: LA co-star Daniela Ruah) for opening their home to the displaced family — dogs, kids, chaos and all.
Sarah Wright: Beyond the Bump
While Sarah’s known for acting roles in The House Bunny and American Made alongside Tom Cruise, she’s also become a voice for mothers everywhere. Alongside best friend and fellow actress Teresa Palmer, she co-hosts The Mother Daze, where the two speak candidly about motherhood’s messy, magical moments.
The podcast, filled with laughter, honesty, and connection, mirrors the tone Sarah often shares on social media — whether she’s posting a beachside bump photo at 41 weeks pregnant or sweetly celebrating Eric’s 48th birthday with:
“Forever and ever and ever holding your hand, watching you with our babies, going on adventures and dancing in any living room as long as it’s with you.”
Looking Ahead
With baby #4’s arrival just around the corner, and a 13-year wedding anniversary on the horizon, Eric and Sarah’s family life continues to thrive — grounded in love, shared dreams, and a commitment to raising their children with heart, humor, and a deep connection to one another.
As Eric once said, “No one makes me laugh more.” And for a family built on laughter, love, and a touch of adventure — that’s the perfect legacy.
