The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner ‘still loves’ Faith Martin despite brutal rejection

The Golden Bachelor has been gripping fans on ABC since it started airing with the show’s nail-biting finale just around the corner.

Things will finally be coming to a head on The Golden Bachelor next week when the finale hits screens on ABC.

Gerry with Faith, Teresa and Leslie on Golden Bachelor

The first-ever season of The Golden Bachelor has been a rollercoaster ride with Gerry Turner sending home favorite Faith Martin in one of the most surprising moments on the show with fans declaring they no longer wanted to watch after the move.

Both Gerry, 72, and Faith, 61, declared their love for each other in front of her family but the show of affection wasn’t enough to secure the Washington school teacher’s place in the final.

As The Golden Bachelor was pre-recorded, Gerry has already made his choice about which woman he gave the engagement ring to.

The penultimate episode of The Golden Bachelor aired this week with Theresa Nist and Leslie Fhima being the final two women standing.

However, Gerry admitted in a recent interview how he told Faith he loved her at The Golden Bachelor reunion special Women Tell All, which aired recently.

Speaking to Deadline, the widower said he and Faith went in for a second hug as they had a moment of “closure”.

Gerry said: “This is one of those memories that I’ll keep with me, probably, forever. I asked for one more hug, and we again hugged for a long time.

“She told me she loved me, and I told her the same back and I said’ ‘Okay, when we break from this hug, I think both of us need to be smiling.’

“‘Because that’s how I want each of us to remember the other.’ And we did a fairly good job of it.”

Despite his admission of love, it seems this may have been the end of the road for Faith and Gerry given he eliminated her from the competition.

She even said during the reunion show how she hoped to find someone who’d made her feel as safe as Gerry had during her time on the reality series.

He explained he was aware there was “more activity to come” and would be getting to know both Teresa, 70, and Leslie, 64, further before he had to make his choice.

What Gerry did say about his final pick was it was the woman he “couldn’t live without” – a piece of advice he was given previously and he kept close to his heart.
