Dakota Johnson, 35, and Chris Martin, 48, have had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2017. Last year, a source revealed the couple had been engaged for “years”, although they were said to be “in no rush to get married”.

During their 8 years of dating, Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin were repeatedly rumored to have broken up. Most recently, the couple was said to have split in August 2024. When the rumors spread, the Fifty Shades star ‘s representative denied everything and affirmed that the couple was “happy together”.

Another source added: “They’ve definitely had issues. They both love their careers. They’re balancing things as best they can.”

When Chris Martin isn’t touring, he insists that Dakota Johnson be with him at all times, and much of their relationship keeps them isolated from the rest of the world.

A friend of the actress explained: “Dakota needs to go out and meet new filmmakers and collaborators, not stay locked in Chris’s Malibu house (California, USA) for weeks. That makes her gradually leave her passion, making her no longer remembered by everyone. Things would definitely be different if Dakota was not in that relationship.”

Although Dakota Johnson has the support of Chris Martin’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, sources say it hasn’t done her much good.
