Chicago Fire’s Jocelyn Hudon Teases Love Triangle With Med’s Dr. Frost: “There’s Definitely Chemistry”

Chicago Fire star Jocelyn Hudon discusses her hopes for a season 14 love triangle crossover with Chicago Med. Hudon’s free-spirited paramedic, Novak, joined Firehouse 51 in Chicago Fire season 12 and became a series regular for season 13. Novak has been involved in a casual, steamy romance with firefighter Jack Damon, but her flirtatious nature also presents other romantic opportunities for her. Hudon’s chemistry with Chicago Med character John Frost has been undeniable as well.

Novak and Damon (Michael Bradway) were seemingly keeping things casual. How does she feel about that relationship?

She shows up on Med and flirts with John Frost, so I feel like that’s also a relationship for them to explore as well, Darren [Barnet] on Med. So I don’t know what way they’re going to go with love and trust for her, because I think her and Frost get along really well. And then Damon kind of rejected her a little bit. I know she’s keeping it cool with him, and she’s like, ‘It’s fine, it’s casual, blah, blah, blah.’ But there seems to also be something with Frost on Med.

Yeah, and now Damon is permanently at 51…

And I feel like it’s important for him to do a good job because he was removed from the firehouse before. So I think for him having a work relationship might, I don’t know, not make the best second impression. So I don’t know if that’s the best move for him. I don’t know what’s going to happen.

Then, there’s the fact that a crossover romance is always fun.

Yeah, I love going to Med. I love working with the Med group.

What Hudon’s Comments Mean For Novak’s Love Life In Chicago Fire
A Love Triangle Is Certainly Possible If Season 14 Has Crossover Episodes

Hudon’s comments show that Novak is in a great place as a character, and her strong friendship with fellow paramedic Violet helps ground her. However, this does allow room for a bit of chaos in her private life, and it would be fitting for Novak’s character to become embroiled in a love triangle. Much will depend on how things evolve with Damon, and now that he’s back at Firehouse 51 permanently and seems to have grown and matured as a character, it leaves the door open for something potentially more serious between the two.

Novak has settled in well in Firehouse 51, but a love triangle feels like it would fit well with her character to be caught up in a romantic love triangle.

Hudon also talks about how Novak’s connections with both Frost and Darren could come to the forefront and how she would love to have crossover appearances on Chicago Med next season to explore these developments. With all three One Chicago shows renewed, there is plenty of content to create future romances for Novak and explore potential love triangles that could make things more tumultuous for the character.

Our Take On Novak’s Love Triangle Possibilities
This Is Certainly A Likely Arc For Her Character

While there is no confirmation of a One Chicago crossover during Chicago Fire season 14, the fact that season 13 produced the first crossover in five years means more could follow. Novak has settled in well at Firehouse 51, but a love triangle feels like it would fit well with her character. Much will depend on what Novak wants out of her personal life, whether she feels ready to pursue a committed relationship, and how this might impact her Chicago Fire story.
