The 2024-25 TV season has officially wrapped up for the summer, and already, I cannot wait for my favorite shows to return. This season was a truly phenomenal one for TV fans, among both returning shows and new ones. There were wildly funny comedy series that also had touching emotional throughlines, as well as intense drama series that kept viewers on the edges of their seats throughout each episode. The range of when many of my favorite shows are returning is anywhere from this coming summer, to sometime in the next three years.
As such, I mean the term “next season” in a relatively vague way, when I say that I cannot wait for the upcoming seasons of so many of my favorite shows (with an honorable mention to Community, which will be returning for a movie at some point in the next few years). Some of my favorites from this past season, like Overcompensating, have not yet been renewed, while others, like Mythic Quest, have sadly been canceled. Still, I cannot wait for the return of many of my favorite shows. These are the 10 that I’m most looking forward to.
Why TV Next Season Is About to Be Wild
Let’s be honest — TV has been killing it lately. With streaming giants constantly upping their game, we’re entering a golden era of storytelling. So if you’re wondering which shows deserve your attention next season, I’ve got you. Here are the 10 that have me counting down the days.
1. Stranger Things (Final Season)
The Upside Down Returns One Last Time
We’ve grown up with Eleven and the gang — and now, it’s all coming to a close. The final season promises an epic showdown, heart-shattering moments, and yes, probably a few tearful goodbyes.
Why It’s a Must-Watch

The Duffer Brothers are pulling out all the stops.
-
Expect cinematic visuals and darker themes.
-
The fan theories? Insane. Just wait.
2. The Mandalorian (Season 4)
This Is The Way…To Peak Star Wars Content
Din Djarin and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) are back! Star Wars fans, rejoice. If last season was about redemption, this one’s about legacy.
What We’re Excited About

More Mandalore lore and battles.
-
Surprise cameos (Boba? Ahsoka? Who knows?).
-
Jaw-dropping CGI and lightsaber action.

The Greens vs. the Blacks — who ya got?
-
More political chess than Game of Thrones ever dared.

-
Satirical takes on politics and pop culture.
-
Butcher and Hughie’s bromance (and beef) continues.
5. The Last of Us (Season 2)

-
Gut-wrenching flashbacks and fierce new characters.
-
A storytelling style that hits you in the feels.

Can’t-Look-Away Moments Incoming
-
Cinematic visuals that feel like music videos.
-
Complex storylines that dig into addiction and identity.
-
A killer soundtrack, as always.
7. True Detective: Night Country (Season 4)
Murder. Ice. Mystery. Repeat.

Rich, layered storytelling with psychological tension.
-
It’s Jodie Foster — enough said.

Fallout Easter eggs galore.

More Númenor. More Elves. More jaw-drops.
